The first thing that immediately catches our eye is the brilliant mix of aluminum and glass design. On the back of the phone you have a mirror-like finish that can easily attract dust and fingerprints, but that is what it makes it so eye-catchy and elegant.

On the inside they’ve incorporated pressure sensors on the sides of the phone, and they call it the Edge Sense. You can configure this feature to fit your needs with the creation of custom commands, and the good thing is that the phone can even tell the difference between a normal squeeze, a short squeeze, and a squeeze and hold gesture. We have to see if this feature is convenient in everyday setting, and if it’s setup in the way that can prevent the unintentional triggering.

Next, the camera is fast, it focuses really well and the quality of the photos are good. They are crisp and the colors are well adjusted, and it can handle variants of exposure. Camera features OIS, Auto HDR Boost, 4K video recording and an f/1.7 aperture, which performs well in the low-light setting.

The phone has no headphone jack, which can be disappointing for some users, but the phone comes with a pair of USonic headphones which are made with a USB Type-C port. Lack of the headphone jack can somewhat be forgiven due to those bundled headphones that feature active noise cancellation.

The HTC U11 runs Android 7.1  with the HTC Sense on top. The phone is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor.

U 11 has a 5.5-inch Super LCD5 display with a Quad HD resolution which looks stunning. The colors are fantastic, with a nice contrast and vibrance, and the brightness is good even in the outdoors.

When it comes to availability, this model will start shipping June 2017, and you can preorder it online for $649 on their website.

Wrapping this up

This model is surprisingly good and HTC presented us their flagship with outstanding design. Everything is sleek and vibrant, they’ve incorporated few new improvements that can expand the functionality of the phone  and in the next few months we will see how it performs compared to the other flagships on the market.
