Unnamed Samsung’s official reported that the upcoming flagship phones will come with battery capacity of 3000mAh for the 5.8-inch model and 3500mAh for the 6.2-inch model. This means that the 6.2-inch model will have a smaller battery than Galaxy S7 edge (3600mAh) while the smaller model will have the same capacity of 3000mAh like Galaxy S7 had.
If these rumors prove to be true, the larger variant will have the same battery capacity as Note 7 had. The decision to stick with a moderate battery capacity indicates that Samsung is playing it safe this time round. And with its new battery quality control procedures battery exploding days are well behind us.
